Plass-Comp

The PLASS-COMP Project (Platform for Strengthening Skills Competitions) focuses on improving national skills competitions and joint preparation for international competitions, such as EuroSkills.

Project duration:

1.9.2024 – 31.8.2026

Financial support:

The total value of the project is 250,000 euros and it is fully funded by the European Union. It is being implemented under the Erasmus+ program, KA2 – Cooperation Partnerships.

Project purpose:

One of the key elements in promoting excellence in vocational education in Slovenia and other European countries is undoubtedly skills competitions. The organizers of these competitions strive to improve the practices of conducting the competitions, while also aiming to prepare young competitors as best as possible for the challenges and demands they will face in participating in national or European competitions such as EuroSkills. To achieve this, the PLASS-COMP project has planned four key activities:

  1. Improvement of national competitions: Organization of national competitions in Slovenia, Croatia, Cyprus, and the Czech Republic, where best practices will be exchanged to enhance the quality of competitions.
  2. Joint preparation for EuroSkills: Partners will organize joint preparation for competitors and experts, with a focus on improving their soft skills and competition readiness.
  3. Development of learning materials: Creation of a manual and e-learning platform to support competition preparation and ensure long-term use.
  4. Promotion of vocational education and training (VET): By disseminating the project results, the project will promote excellence in VET, including activities aimed at raising awareness of the importance of vocational skills.

Expected results:

Partners from four countries (Cyprus, Czech Republic, Croatia, and Slovenia) will carry out activities to achieve important results that will be internationally recognized and disseminated to other European countries:

  • Improvement of competition quality: Increased international cooperation, digitalization of processes, and the establishment of more sustainable practices in competitions, such as a zero-waste approach.
  • Inclusion of diverse participants: Encouraging the inclusion of people with disabilities and ensuring greater accessibility to competitions.
  • Long-term usability of results: The developed manual and e-learning platform will enable continued training even after the project’s completion.
  • Improved competitor readiness: Better training of competitors and experts will contribute to higher competitiveness in international competitions.

The PLASS-COMP project addresses a wide range of users:

  • Young professionals – competitors and their mentors: Provides them with a new source of knowledge (e-manual, e-training, simplifying the application process for competitions through digitalization).
  • Students and pupils: Raises awareness of the importance of vocational and professional education and excellence.
  • Policymakers and employers: Conveys the importance of promoting involvement in vocational and professional education, thereby “recruiting” top-level professionals.
